Whether you are purchasing your first home ever, are new to the Denver market, or even both – there’s a lot to unpack in deciding what attributes are important to you. Budget, square footage, and commute times are typical starting points for most buyers, yet even more important is considering the life you want to live in your new home.
To find your perfect new space, I work to understand how you live, how you communicate and what your long term plans are. Are you DIY-ers? Or do you travel and need something hands off? If you love to cook for your extended family, maybe a two bedroom with a big kitchen is better than a 3 bedroom with a small kitchen. Or maybe your first home will become a source of income when you get that promotion and buy your next home! I want to consider ll the angles so we find a home that grows with you.
So where do you start? First, find a realtor (like me!) who values your interests above all else. Try a few folks out... Do they educate you about the home, or just point out obvious features? Do they advise you on potential repairs or updates that will cost you later in ownership? Are they listening to your comments about the home, or just showing you as many houses as possible as quickly as possible without asking for your feedback?
Whether you are purchasing your first home or your fifth, you can have the home that reflects your personality, works well with your living style. and stays within your financial goals. Older homes provide opportunities for individuality that’s rarer than in new builds, allowing you to express yourself and grow into your home for years to come.
Looking for passive income, a vacation home, or something more? When chosen thoughtfully, older homes can provide amazing long term value and command higher rates than their basic, cookie cutter counterparts.
Perhaps you own an important archtectural home, or maybe you’ve decided it’s time to become a conservator of one... Denver has a treaseure trove of Special Homes with Provenance once you know where they are hiding!
If you're new to buying a home, and especailly a Mid-Century home, watch this interview with Atomic Ranch as we discuss what things to be aware of as a new buyer.
Older homes were built with craftsmanship and materials that we no longer see in today's new builds. Join Kimber and Atomic Ranch as we discuss why older homes make the best first time homes.
What's going on in the market, and how can you be prepared so you get the home you are in love with? Atomic Ranch asks Kimber these and other important details about the current opportunites for new buyers.
Kimber was an incredible agent to work with. As first time home owners, we had no idea of the nuances of hunting for a house. Every house we looked at, Kimber went out of her way to advise on the condition of things we hadn't even thought of, such as the hot water heater, the furnace, the foundation, the driveway, etc. She was also able to share our vision of our perfect house, pointing out areas where walls could be opened up, where aspects of rooms could be improved, and where we could personalize in a manner befitting ourselves.
Kimber was also very proactive, even going as far as to reach out to some of our previous offers to check the status of their current contracts. During one of these calls, she discovered that the contract had fallen through, and had us contracted for the house the very next morning.
Her efforts didn't stop after getting us under contract, or even after closing. She has a nearly endless list of resources that she shares with clients. We have come to trust all of her recommendations, using her contractors for AC installation, radon mitigation, and many other little projects. We have even asked her plenty of garden advise!
We highly recommend Kimber! She is passionate, kind, friendly, and the perfect realtor!
